First Day Of School

Maddie and Jacob are doing Kid's Day Out at our church on Mondays and Fridays. They were very excited to start. Jacob felt pretty special getting to go to school with his big sister.

While Jake was gone this weekend, we spent a lot of time outside and at the park. We went to a new park on Friday just outside of San Antonio. It was nice to be out of the city near a river and in the middle of the woods. We packed a picnic lunch and played for a couple hours. We left once everyone started overheating. Since it was 100 degrees here today, we decided to get the sprinkler out after church today. Maddie, Jacob, and Caden all had a blast playing outside together. They are good buddies and have so much fun together.

This summer we got to spend a full 8 days at my dad's Lakehouse in Northern Wisconsin. It is in the middle of no where, so we went without phones or television for the entire time. Jake and I didn't have our cell phones turned on the entire time we were there. It was so nice to spend family time together without any distractions. We had the best time and are so thankful that my dad was able to take off work to be up there with us. We appreciated everyone in my family coming up there to visit us as well, especially for my birthday. It was very special finally getting to celebrate with my family after being gone for so many years. So, thank you to my wonderful family for taking time out of your busy schedules to come up to the lakehouse to spend time with us. We had a special and memorable time. Maddie and Jacob are still bragging to all their friends about all the things they got to do at the "bear house".
