In loving memory of my Great Grandma, Victoria Vukovich. The most wonderful great grandmother one could hope to have. My thoughts are filled with incredible memories of her and some of these memories are pictured here. She had one son and daughter-in-law, eight grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren who all loved her dearly. My sons, Jacob and Caden, never had the privledge of meeting her, but we will be sure to tell them stories of how wonderful she was. Here are just a few things that I remeber so clearly: Getting to go stay at her house in Milwaukee with her and grandpa. When I was young, I remember sneaking into her scary basement to find all the treasures she had hidden down there. Many of them were toys from when I lived there with my parents during my first year of life. I even got to see the metal bucket that was my bath tub as a baby. As I got older, she and I would play card games (she always won) while my grandpa would relax by watching golf of their tv. Whenever I would go to her house she would be sure to whip up one of her famous bowls of cream of wheat as soon as I got there, she knew it was my favorite. If I spent the night I would always wake up to her amazing apple pancakes (I still cannot make them as good as she could). I also had the privledge of visiting her at her apartment in Milwaukee many times after soccer games. She lived near where I played and my mom and I would often stop by to see her. She would always make us the best ham sandwhiches and would never forget to serve it with chips and jelly bellies (they were my and her favorite candies). She always had a big supply that needed restocking after I visited. She was in such great health for so much of her life that she was even able to drive to Janesville (1.5hours) for all major holidays. Thanksgiving and Christmas were obvious favorites because of the goodies she ALWAYS brought. She would enter and the kids would help her carry in the box of peanut butter candies (like the inside of a butterfinger) and my mom would help her carry in the large box of mixed nuts from a gourmet candy store near her house. The box of peanut butter candy would be gone within 30 minutes of her arrival. She would also bring her famous green and red jellos that no one has been able to replace or mimic to this day. She always brought something special to the table, food and company. My most recent memories of her were when I took Maddie when she was 6 months old to Dothan, Al to help celebrate her 93rd birthday. It was special, and her first time seeing her great great grandchild. I also got to see her three years ago in Florida when my family went there to celebrate my mom's 50th birthday. I took Madison again (she was 18 months) and I was very pregnant with Jacob. She was in great spirits, felt great, and even got to enjoy a beer on the beach with us. She got to spent a lot of time with Madison again, who loved her very much and gave her lots of hugs and kisses. Very special memories of such a wonderful Lady. She passed away on the evening of May 26th, 2010, just a few weeks before her 97th birthday. She will be forever loved and missed.
