Jacob's First Soccer Season

Jacob just finished his first soccer season and he did great. It started off a little rough because he doesn't have the longest attention span, but it got better each week. By the end of theseason he even scored a goal. It was a big improvement considering the first week we couldn't even get him to go on the field!

Hunting Trip

Last weekend we were invited by some wonderful friends to go on a hunting trip with them. They have a deer lease with a nice three bedroom house on 600 acres of land in the middle of nowwhere in mid Texas. It was about a 3 hour trip and it was so nice to be away and to have some great family time. It was beautiful land and the kids had an absolute blast. They were outside literally from sun up (6am) to sundown (6pm). We were able to take them on nature and adventure walks, we went cruising on 4-wheelers, tried fishing a little, and caught lots of bugs. Jake was able to get a deer, clean it, and bring home lots of venison to load up in our freezer. He saw a ton of deer and had a very refreshing time in God's creation. We are so thankful that our friends took us to their property and allowed us to enjoy it with them. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Jake showing Maddie and Jacob his deer that he got with his bow. He explained to them that God created all things and that animals should always be treated with respect, but that God also created animals for us to enjoy for food and that he was going to take all the meat from this deer so that we could have lots of food. I think they are to the point where they really understand and even though they love animals, they know that we use them for food also. Jacob keeps asking when he can kill a deer...he wants to be just like daddy!

Playing In The Woods

It was beautiful outside yesterday. It finally cooled off a little bit here...it made it into the 70's. We spent the whole morning and early afternoon picnicing at a local park with some friends. The kids had a blast and played for about 3 1/2 hours straight!

Here are our little ones in their Halloween costumes this year. Madison was a beautiful butterfly, Jacob was a scary triceratops, and Caden was a sweet little monkey.

Trick Or Treating 2010

Here are a bunch of pictures of Halloween night. We went trick or treating in our little neighborhood and had a great time. Some friends of ours joined us which made it even more enjoyable. Madison, Jacob, and Caden had a blast with their friends and all of them got a ton of candy!

Caden walked all by himself for about an hour and then his little legs got tired. He was perfectly content the reat of the time riding in the wagon, watching all that was going on, and eating this big tootsie pop. He refused to let go of his bucket all night and threw a fit when we took it away for bed time. I think he had a great first halloween (technically not his first, but his first to be involved in).
