First Time Fishing

We have been taking Maddie fishing here, but it is a little different than we are used to. There are a lot of trout here as opposed to bass and brim. They seem a little more picky and difficult to catch. We took her to a small pond here on post last weekend during a storm and caught a small Bluegill before it started pouring rain. She was amazed and sang her Fishy Fishy in a brook song. She was excited and now talks about going fishing a lot. She didn't understand why mommy and daddy wouldn't let her hold and kiss the fishy...nasty!

17 Months

Here are some pics during Maddie's 17th month. She still loves to play on the park across the street and loves to put money in her piggy. Her two favorite movies at the moment (they are the only two that we have) are Finding Nemo and Madagascar. She loves animals and fish so we are planning on making our collection of animal movies bigger, but for now she is so happy with the two she has. She frequently asks to watch a "moobie" and when I ask her which one she names off all the characters. It is either "nemo, dori, ark, and tutu" or "beebra, roar, gafffff, and ippo". She is able to communicate very well and words get better with each day.

Playing With Friends

Maddie has made some wonderful friends here in Colorado. She calls them all by name and talks about them often. She had a lot of fun playing with them, but has a big crush on Zeke in particular. Daddy has to keep his eye on him...even though Maddie is the one putting on all the moves!

Too Cute For Words

Maddie is 17 months in all these pictures. She gets crazier and more beautiful each day. She has so much personality that most of the time we don't know what to do with her. We love her so much and have so much fun just watching her grow.

April In Colorado

Well, it is spring technically i guess. We got another big snow today. Right now we have 3-4 inches, but we are supposed to get 8-10 by tomorrow morning. Maddie just stands by the window yelling "snow, snow, snow!!!". She loves to watch it so we let her go play in it for a few minutes.

Kitson's Visit For Easter

Jake's family was able to come out here for Easter. We had a great visit even though we weren't able to go outside very much. It was cold and snowy most of the week, but Maddie loved having them here. We got to go to the Royal Gorge while they were here. We spent most days just hanging out inside while they loved on and spoiled Maddie rotten. It was a wonderful time and we were sad to see them go.

Easter 2007

We had a nice Easter. Jake's family is out here visiting, so we all went to church together, went out to a great lunch, and spent the afternoon just relaxing and visiting. Maddie enjoyed her Easter basket that we got for her. She was overwhelmed with the candy and movies. She wore her Easter dress that I made for her to church today. It looked so cute on her. I was so proud that she was able to wear the dress that I made. Here are some pics of her in her dress specially made by mommy.

Easter Fun

We took Maddie to an Easter Egg Hunt and a little fair here on post and she had a great time. She collected lots of candy, but wouldn't go near the Easter Bunny. She also got a big surprise from Bumpa today. She got a little Easter package that she loved! There was a stuffed zebra, an animal book and some flash cards, and a huge bag of "uckers"...her favorite and Daddy's least favorite. She went crazy when she opened the box and has carried the zebra around all day.

Uncle Dan's Visit

Uncle Dan came to visit and boy did Maddie have fun. I think Danny is her first official crush. She loved playing with him and just being around him. We did a ton of fun things while he was here. We hiked the incline, went to the zoo, saw Garden of the Gods, and Dan and Jake managed to stay alive after a day of skiing. It was great to have him out here and Maddie misses him very much. He is a very good uncle.

Another Zoo Trip

I took Maddie to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo again on Monday. She loves just walking around and looking at all the animals. Her favorite animal this trip was the zebra. We only saw it from a far distance, but it is the animal we have taught her about most recently, so she got attached very quickly. We got a family membership today so we are able to take many trips before we leave Colorado. It is a great zoo and Madison really enjoys feeding the giraffes, even though they scared her a little this time.

16 Months

Here are some pics of Madison during her 16th month. She turns 17 months tomorrow and it is hard to believe how quickly she is growing up. She is quickly turning into a little girl, but she is still so cuteand such a goofball!
